Anthony J. Abate, 90, of Augusta, Ga., father of Eleanor Stewart of Conway, died Friday (Jan. 16, 1998) at his home.
Born Sept. 18, 1907, in New York, N.Y., son of Nicholas and Sigismunda Rizzo Abate, he was a retired teacher and administrator and a Presbyterian.
Other survivors include his wife, Adelaide Caracci; two sons, Ronald Abate of Singapore and Anthony Abate of Martinez, Ga.; another daughter, Dorothy Abate of Oceanside, N.Y.; two sisters, Matilda Scheib of Elmsford, N.Y., and Giovanna Gallo of Canoga Park, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
Private graveside services are 10 a.m. Monday at Crestlawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. John Shell officiating. Arrangements are by Roller-McNutt Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Holy Souls School in Little Rock.
