Mr. Thomas Eustice King, Jr., affectionately known by all as "Tommy", age 62, of Sandy Run Road, Brunson, entered into rest Friday evening, December 20, 2013, at the Roper Hospital in Charleston.

Funeral services will be conducted 5 o'clock Thursday afternoon, December 26, 2013, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Varnville. The Reverend Dr. Thomas Kelly officiating. The family has respectfully requested that members of the Crocketville Hunting Club serve as Honorary Escorts and their presence is requested at The Funeral Chapel at 4:30 that afternoon.

The family will receive friends following the funeral ceremony until 8 o'clock that evening at the funeral home.

Born August 3, 1951, a native and lifelong resident of Hampton County, he was a son of Mrs. Frances Marian Sauls King and the late Mr. Thomas Eustice King. He had served in the South Carolina National Guard. Tommy was a well-known and beloved icon in Hampton County, having been a part of his family's store, Crocketville Country Store. An avid outdoorsman whose favorite pastimes in life were hunting and fishing, he through his love of hunting large game American Whitetail Deer, founded the Crocketville Hunting Club. He will also be fondly remembered for his always fun Sunday afternoons of riding golf carts or four-wheelers with family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his mother of Brunson are: his wife of thirty-four years, Mrs. Elaine Terry King; three daughters, Stephanie King Ashby of Atlanta, Georgia, Marian Kay King Lovett and her husband Patrick of Brunson, and Michelle King Mixson and her husband Brian of Grays; and a sister, Linda King Terry and her husband "Puddy" of Brunson. There are four grandchildren, Ashley Tuten Wood, Brooke Alexis Ashby, Michael Thomas Lovett, and Katelyn Elaine Lovett that also survive as well as his mother-in-law, Mrs. Bernice Terry of Hampton and his father-in-law, Will Terry of Ridgeland. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Victoria Lea' "Tori" Tuten; and a brother, Larry Eugene King.
