Calvin Anthony Savoie,, a welder for Torch Inc., died Thursday at Plaquemines Parish General Hospital in Port Sulphur after a brief illness. He was 47. Mr. Savoie was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Avondale for 23 years. He was an Air Force veteran. Survivors include his wife, Diana Matherne Savoie; a son, Ensign Warren James Savoir; two daughters, Elizabeth Savoie Rodrigue and Paula Savoie Camardelle; two brothers, Roy J. Savoie Jr. and William C. Savoie, and one grandson. A Mass will be said Monday at 9 a.m. at Westside Funeral Home, 5101 West Bank Expressway, Marrero. Burial will be in Restlawn Park Cemetery in Avondale.
