Florence Kaufman Barber passed away June 3, 2014 at the Anthony Community Care Center at the age of 102 years, 8 months and 14 days.

Florence, daughter of John H. and Mary Esther (Voran) Kaufman, was born on a farm nine miles southeast of Kingman, Kansas on September 21, 1911.

A graduate of Kingman High School and Friends University, she was a retired school teacher and a longtime resident of Anthony.

She belonged to the United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Women's Hospital Auxiliary, Harper County Area Retired School Personnel and was a member of the Lion's Club and the Children's Sunday School Department.

She was a volunteer at the Anthony Community Care Center and Anthony Home Comfort and served many years on Anthony's Welcome Wagon Committee.

On August 27, 1935, she married Walter J. Kaufman in Kingman. He died June 28, 1985. On June 12, 1993, she married Alva J. Barber of Visalia, CA. He died November 22, 1998.

Survivors include her two sons: Charles Kaufman of Laguna Vista, TX and Steve Kaufman and wife, Marcia of Steamboat Springs, Colorado; four grandchildren: Greg Kaufman, Shawna Kuck and husband, Jeff, Kristin Aubuchon and husband, Mat, and Kathryn Dorolek and husband Greg; three nieces and one nephew; other relatives and many friends.

Preceding her in death in addition to her two husbands were daughter-in-law, Maxine Kaufman; sister, Helen Stallman; brother, Kenneth Kaufman; and sisters-in-law, Carol Kaufman and Willi Kaufman.
