BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
!OBITUARY:
ANNA VAN HA[E]MERT
Anna Rupprecht, daughter of Fridolin Rupprecht and his wife Barbara, nee Schoenleben. was born near Lincoln, Ill., on Feburary 16, 1873. there she was baptised in the name of the Triune God. In 1890, the family came to Nebraska, and settled in Gage county. She was united in holy wedlock to Leybert VanHamert on January 4, 1895 by Pastor L. Poeverlein. He had been confirmed in St. John Lutheran church of Beatrice, on April 9, 1893 and thus was one of the early pioneers of the church and congregation.
The young couple lived southwest of Beatrice on the farm until 1910. In that year she suddenly became an invalid and was removed to a local hospital. The hospital became her home for the next 42 years. Her family moved away, and all of them passed away, preceding her in death. To this union three children were born who died years ago. She was a victim of paralysis and endured her Cross for almost half a century.
God released her from earthly grief and loneliness on June 20, 1952 She had attained the age of 79 years, four months, four days. She leaves to mourn her parting Mrs. Christine McAllister, Grant's Pass, Oregon, sister; also four nephews and two nieces as follows: Alfred, Ernest, and Elsie Linsenmeyer of Beatrice; and Beulah, George, and Edwin MacAllister, Grant's pass, Oregon. A half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Linsenmeyer, also preceded her in death. May she now rest in the peace of the Lord looking toward eternal resurrection and reunion with her loved ones.
Funeral services were held from the Harman mortuary, Beatrice, June 23, Church services were held from St. John American Lutheran church, the same morning, with Pastor John F. Streng, in charge. A ladies duet sang: "Jesus, lesd the way", and "O Where is the home of the Soul to be found". Intermemt was in Evergreen Home cemetery, Beatrice, Pastor Streng preached on the text: St. John 8:31, which was her confirmation memory verse.
