James S. Adams, 92, formerly of Pitcairn, Pa., died Monday at Beverly Manor Nursing Home in Monroeville, Pa. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Pearce Funeral Home Chapel in Pitcairn, with the Rev. Dr. Olivia Graham officiating. Burial will be in Cross Roads Cemetery, Monroeville, Pa.
Mr. Adams was born Aug. 4, 1901, in Swissvale, Pa., a son of the late George Adams and Rachel Mc-Munn Adams. He retired from Penna Railroad in 1966. He was a fireman and worked in the Car Shop.
Survivors include his widow, Dorothy Walker Adams; four daughters, Corinne Clayton of Orangeburg, S.C, Majorie Mitcheltree of Pitcairn, Janis Knutzer Tamenne of Roanoke, Va., and Marcia Malain of Penn Hill, Pa.; 7 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
