Carl Klaffke Succumbs To Heart Attack
Carl Henri Klafke, 76, of 20 DeForce St., died in a local hospital following an apparent heart attack. A native of Iowa, he was a retired school teacher and had resided in Lodi for the past 12 years.
He was a past president of the East-West Whist Club, past president of the Lodi Senior Citizens Club, a member of the Lodi Masonic Lodge, the Lodi American Legion Post and a member of the Emanuel American Lutheran Church.
He served as a lieutenant in World War I.
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Minnie Nelson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Almo Nelson of Cresco, Iowa; and one brother, William Klaffke of Phoenix, Ariz. He is also survived by a nephew, Waldon Klaffke of Lodi.
