Funeral Services Held For William L. Gasway

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at the Miller & Son funeral home for William L. Gasway, retired night watchman, of 1115 west National avenue, who died suddenly Thursday afternoon, December 6 of a heart attack Rev. W. T. Fleming of the First Baptist Church, officiated and burial was made at Cottage Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Gasway was born in Saline, County Ill., a son of Robert and Matilda Price Gasway and had been a resident of Brazil for 28 years. Mr. Gasway had been in poor health for the past three years and before retiring was employed as a night watchman at the Brazil Clay Co.
The deceased was a member of the First Baptist Church of this city and the Odd Fellows lodge at Mt. Vernon Ind.
Survivor are the widow, Mrs. Nora Gasway, three daughters and a son, Mrs. Clay Stearley, city; Mr. Walter H. Clanahan, of Chicago; Mrs. R. H. Gates, Terre Haute, and Ensign Robert W. Gasway, stationed at Key West, Fla.; also two brothers and a sister, Thomas and Joe Gasway, of Galatea, Ill., and Mrs. John Robertson of Christopher, Ill.
