PEORIA -- William L. Anderson, 80, of 329 W. Glencrest Drive died at 2:05 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, at Proctor Hospital.

Born March 16, 1918, in Peoria to Alphon L. and Dorothy Marie Plumer Anderson, he married Marjorie Graubner on Oct. 11, 1942, in Jacksonville. She died Aug. 19, 1989, in Peoria. He married Olga L. Zweifel on Oct. 27, 1990, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Thomas of Manhattan Beach, Calif., and Robert of Atlanta, Ga.; two stepsons, Richard Zweifel of Springfield and James Zweifel of St. Louis; two sisters, Joan Porter of Seminole, Fla., and Charlene Powell of Carbondale; and three grandchildren.

One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran.

He attended the University of Illinois, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity.

He was a senior manager at Caterpillar in Morton for 35 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Peoria.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wilton Mortuary, where visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in Jacksonville Memorial Lawn Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Memorials may be made to his church building fund.
