Clarissa (Clara) was the mother of Fred Andrew Stone, actor, and grandmother of Dorothy,Paula and Carol Stone, actresses.

Her husband Louis Preston Stone is a great uncle of Milburn Stone, actor of Gunsmoke fame.

Clara was a twin of her sister Clarinda who died at the age of 25 in Iowa.

Her uncle was Lorenzo Dow Stephens, Death Valley Pioneer and author. He and his group of survivors gave Death Valley its name.

Her children were Fred Andrew, Joseph Edward(Eddie), Paul (sometimes; Pearl on records), and Stella. Stella died soon after birth and Eddie died in 1903.


Private funeral services for Mrs. Clara Stone, 77, mother of Fred Stone, noted actor and dancer, and wife of Louis P. Stone, Western pioneer of the covered wagon days, were held atr noon today at the funeral home of Chester A. Fulton and Son, Freepoert. Only members of the immediate familywere admitted. Public services will be held at the home at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Interment will be private.
