She was born Dec. 19, 1965, in Weston, W.Va., daughter of the late William (Sr.) and Mary Lorriane Giles.
She was an in-home caregiver and enjoyed the outdoors, nature, doing crafts and loved her grandchildren. She was a Baptist by faith.
Brenda is survived by her daughter, Brittany Lockhart of Republic, Mo.; her son, Mitchell Lockhart of Palestine, W.Va.; eight sisters, Oleta Taylor, Jacqueline Tomblin, Nena Greathouse, Cheryl Brookover, D'ona LeTosky, Drema Giles, Gina Haney and Georgette Giles; five brothers, William Taylor, Robert Taylor, Charlie Taylor, Brian Taylor and Mark Taylor; two grandsons, Blake Malcom and Ashton Lockhart; 36 nieces and nephews; her close friend and cousin, Tina Null (Rodney); and numerous other friends and loved ones.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Chuck and Betty Taylor; and a sister, Darlena Giles.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Day, Dr. Shah, Dr. William Tse and the Critical Care Unit at Camden Clark Medical Center.
A celebration of life will be 2-4 p.m. today with a 4 p.m. service at the home of her son, Mitchell. He can be reached at 1-304-275-3437.
