HOOVER, ALABAMA. . .Anne F. Vickers, a resident of Hoover, Alabama, died Friday morning, May 30, 2014, at her home. She was 80.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, June 2, 2014, in the Our of Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1728 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama, with Reverend Monsignor Martin M. Muller officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday at the church in Homewood. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery, Abbeville, Alabama, with Father David Shoemaker officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 1728 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Alabama 35209.
Mrs. Vickers was born and reared in Nashville, Tennessee, daughter of the late Pierre' deGraauw and Pauline Cawthon deGraauw. She formerly lived in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jacksonville, Florida and Dallas, Texas before moving to Hoover in 1973. Mrs. Vickers was formerly employed as an X-Ray technician. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Brian Hayes, a sister and two brothers.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Henry Curtis Vickers, Hoover, AL; two daughters, Louise Hudson (Greg), Chelsea, AL; and Frances Hayes, Helena, AL; three grandchildren, Leanna Hudson, Andrew Hayes, and Curtis Hayes.
