Eileen Nagle

Eileen Doris Nagle, nee Dix, passed away at the age of 90 on May 30th, surrounded by family at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Ottawa, concelebrated by Revs. Jules Adator, SMA and J. Patrick Murphy, CM. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at Ottawa Funeral Home & Crematory with prayers at 3 p.m. with the Catholic Daughters of America. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery, Ottawa following the Mass.
Eileen was born January 10, 1924 in St. Louis, MO to Henry and Lucille (Wyatt) Dix. She married "Joe" Nagle on February 3, 1942 at St. Patrick's Church. He died May 10, 1989.
Although she spent most of her life tending to and caring for her family, for a few years in the 1970s she worked in the office of the LaSalle County Clerk. She became the Office Manager, Deputy County Clerk and the Voter Registration Coordinator.
She was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a former member of Deer Park Country where she learned and loved the game of golf. Her favorite hobby through all of her adult years was the game of bridge. Many in the community considered her an expert bridge player and she remained so until the time of her death. She loved being with good friends and when alone, she was an avid reader.
Eileen was the loving mother of seven children; Jeremiah (Carole) Nagle, Ottawa, Nan (Charles) Butler, LaSalle, Mary (Joseph) Clancy, LaSalle, Joseph (Celeste) Nagle, Spring Valley, Christina (Edward) Kuleck, Ottawa, Melissa (Michael) Hellman, Elkhart, IN, and Nora (Richard) Van Ham, Batavia. She is also survived by 22 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Nagle and her grandson, Sean Nagle.
Pall bearers will be all of her grandchildren and gift bearers will be great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to Marquette Academy.
