Born August 30, 1929, in Union, SC, son of Dudley Wade Lawson, Sr. (1906–1966) and Gaynell B. Fleming Lawson (1907–2000); husband of Marcia Morris Edwards Lawson.
A graduate of Union High School, attended Newberry College, was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having been attached to SCARS, a member of Duncan Acres United Methodist Church and the Men's Bible Class, the owner and operator of Dudley W. Lawson, Jr. Tax Accountants, a member of the Union Masonic Lodge #75, Union York Rites Bodies, and the Hejaz Shrine Temple.
Other survivors include stepdaughters, Linda E. Lybrand (Ronnie), Deborah E. Robertson, Trina E. Gaines (Tim); stepson, Robert M. Edwards (Linda); sisters, Carolyn Nelson (Clyde) and Dianne Alexander (Harold Dean); six step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and special family friends, Don and Mary Arthur Powers and Robert Bob and Helen Gist.
Also predeceased by a brother, Larry E. Lawson.
Funeral services were held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, January 15, 2006, at Duncan Acres United Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Tommy Bailey and Rev. Terry Mitchell; burial was in Union Memorial Gardens with Masonic Rites.
