John Milton Stokes, 54, of Gulfport, MS, and a former resident of Blountstown, FL, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2014, in Gulfport.
John was born on July 15, 1959, in Marianna, FL, and had lived in Gulfport for the past 32 years, coming from Blountstown. He was an electrician by trade and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blountstown.
John was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie Stokes.
Survivors include his father, Buzz Stokes, of Gulfport, MS; a son, Cameron Stokes, of Vancleave, MS; a daughter, Bridget Stokes, of Vancleave, MS; a brother, Kevin Stokes, and his wife, Katrina. of Gulfport, MS; sisters, Sandra McNew and her husband, George, of Gulfport, MS, and Jenny Hill and her husband, Jimmy, of Altha, FL; five grandchildren, Sean Lee, Loren Lee, Rylee Stokes, Jamie Stokes, and Micah White.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 31, at 10:00 am (CDT) from the graveside at Cypress Creek Cemetery in Kinard, FL. with Reverend Allan Nichols officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends Friday, May 30, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm (CDT) at Peavy Funeral Home.
