Daughter of Adelaide Charlotte Allen and Frank Louis Goff. Married to Jewell W. Doan, Sr. 08 Oct 1917 in Bismarck, ND. Cause of death listed as heart failure and generalized arteriosclerosis. She had Alzheimer's Disease for several years eventually requiring nursing home care. She died at St. Vincent's Nursing Home in Bismarck.

RITES WEDNESDAY FOR JULIA DOAN, 86

Former McKenzie area resident Mrs. Julia Doan, 86, St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Bismarck, died there Sunday.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at Boelther (sic) Funeral Home Chapel, Bismarck, with the Rev. Hensel Hendrickson officiating.

The former Julia Goff was born Dec. 21, 1891, in Litchwood [Lidgerwood], where she grew up, attended school and was employed as a telephone operator. In 1816 she moved to Britten to live with a sister and then married Jewell Doan Oct. 8, 1917, in Bismarck. The couple made their home on the Black Lake [Leg] Ranch near McKenzie. He died in 1967 and in 1969 she moved to St. Vincent's Nursing Home.

She leaves a son, Jewell, Jr., McKenzie; two grandsons; three great-granddaughters; two brothers, Clayton, Mankato, Minn., and George, Valley City; and two sisters, Charlotte Baumann, Breckenridge, Minn., and Mrs. Leslie Bailey, Fergus Falls, Minn.

SERVICES PLANNED

Services for Mrs. Julia Doan, 86, St. Vincent's Nursing Home, Bismarck, former McKenzie area resident, who died at the nursing home Sunday will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Boelter Funeral Home Chapel, Bismarck. The former Julia Goff was born Dec. 21, 1891, at Lidgerwood, and following her marriage to Jewell Doan Oct. 8, 1917, at Bismarck, the couple lived on Black Leg Ranch near McKenzie. He died in 1967 and she became a resident of St. Vincent's Nursing Home in 1969. Incorrect information received on birthplace and residence was included in Monday's Tribune.
