"James Clarence Weddle, 79, Somerset, died Friday at Somerset City Hospital after an illness of two years.

He was born in Nancy on April 12, 1893, the son of Willis and Mary King Weddle, both deceased.

He married the former Catherine Walker on June 10, 1955, in Rossville, Ga., and she survives.

He was previously married to Thelma Flynn.

Survivors include two sons, Clarence Weddle, Jr., of Highland Academy, Portland, Tenn., Spencer Dean Weddle of Somerset; one stepson, Harding Coldston of Fairborn, Ohio; three daughters, Arlene Weddle of Somerset, Mrs. Marlene Gifford of Somerset, Mrs. Elgene Whitson of Greenwood, Ind.; one brother, Arch Weddle of Somerset; two sisters, Mrs. Nan Floyd of Somerset, Mrs. Bess Romanski of St. Clair Shores, Mich., and six grandchildren.

He came here from Nancy, was a farmer and a restaurant operator. He joined the Seventh Day Adventist Church on October 7, 1972.

Funeral services were held today in the chapel of the Somerset Undertaking Company with Pastor Joseph Story and Rev. S.L. Sears officiating.

Burial was in the Mill Springs National Cemetery."
