ELLIOTT, Mary Coyle Mary Coyle Elliott, formerly of Dayton, who was born in Philadelphia in 1923 to Joseph and Elizabeth Coyle, was a "Rosie Riveter" during WWII and a member of the Queen of Martyrs Half Century Club, died peacefully Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Franciscan Care Center in Toledo, Ohio. She was 82. While her children were growing up, Mary worked during the Christmas holidays at Rike's then for some time at Sears and then for over 30 years at Weight Watchers and Diet Workshop in Dayton. Her home was always a welcome place for gatherings of friends and relatives in which she welcomed many to share a place in her family. Mary, who loved sewing and crafts throughout her life, was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years: Samuel Martin Elliott, Jr.; by her brother: Joseph Coyle and her sister: Delores Hulbert. She was the mother of: Sister Karen Elliott, C.PP.S. of Toledo, Samuel III and his wife, Donna of New Castle, Colorado, Steven of San Diego and Michael and his wife, Deborah of Aurora, Colorado; the grandmother of Terri, Samuel M. IV, and Mark Elliott, Julie Kirschling, Jennie Quevedo, Vivien and Hannah Mary Elliott and great-grandmother of 11.
A 10:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in the Sister's Chapel at Salem Heights (Our Lady of the Rosary Chapel), 4960 Salem Avenue. Burial will follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
