ST. JOHNSVILLE- Mrs. Grace E. Sanders 65, of East Main Street died yesterday at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam after a long illness.
Born and educated in St. Johnsville, Mrs. Sanders was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Sanders worked at the former Fort Plain Box Factory for about five years. She later worked at Beech-Nut Corp. of Canajoharie for several years during the 1940's.
She was a member of the former Stone Arabia Reformed Church and its Ladies Circle. Mrs. Sanders was also a former Sunday school teacher for several years.

Survivors include her husband, Leland L. Sanders, whom she married Nov. 23 1946; five daughters Sherry L.Kneaskern of Fort Plain, Lorraine A. Pawlings of New Hartford, Darlene G. Welch and Leslie L. Siegle, both of Fort Plain and Holly J. Perkins of Herkimer; three brothers William and Morris Lamphere Jr., both of Fort Plain and Donald Lamphere of Canajoharie; a sister, Janet Lamphere of St. Johnsville; and 10 grandchildren.

The services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Swartz & Schmiedel Funeral Home, 34 Center St., Fort Plain. Burial will be in the West St. Johnsville Cemetery.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, 8 Mountian View Ave., Albany, 12205.
