BETTY JEAN GROVE, 85, of Blairs Valley Road in Clear Spring, Md., passed away Monday May 26, 2014, at Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport, Md. Born Dec. 14, 1928, in Blairs Valley, Md., she was the daughter of the late Admiral Sword and Jessie (Clopper) Sword.
She was a 1946 graduate of Clear Spring High School. She was a homemaker. In her early years, she was employed by Fairchild Aircraft.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Donald Francis Grove of Clear Spring; daughter, Brenda Grove Kemp, New Market; sons, Phillip B. Grove, Funkstown, and Jeffrey A. Grove, Martinsburg, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Wendy L. Anthony of Baltimore, Md., and Christina A. Grove of Houston, Texas; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Rikki Leroy.
Services held at Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home Inc., Clear Spring; burial in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown.
