AJ Arrington, 71, of North Pekin, Ill., passed away at 12:44 p.m. Monday, May 26, 2014, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, Ill.
He was born on Jan. 5, 1943, in Headland, Ala., a son of Asbury and Fairy Bell Littlefield Arrington. He married Gloria Brown on Sept. 9, 1973, in Peoria, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Mike (Kathy) Arrington of Mobile, Ala., and Edward Arrington of Mobile, Ala.; three daughters, Terri Balzli of Mobile, Ala., Deanna (Chris) Darm of Marquette Heights, Ill., and Kelly Arrington of Marquette Heights, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Austin, Bailey, Todd, Jared, Stephenie, Thad and John; a great-niece, Melissa Brown of El Paso, Ill.; and a "grand dog," Scooter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
AJ was employed with Caterpillar Inc. He retired on Oct. 1, 1996, from the KK Plant in East Peoria.
He was a member of the Frank N. Nicol Masonic Lodge 1170 AF&AM in Creve Coeur and past Worshipful Master of the Peoria Consistory.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, Ill.
