MATILDA PETTIT Dies At Age 88 - Mrs. Matilda Hand Pettit, 88, of Broad street, Belleplain, passed away Monday morning at her home after failing health for eight years. The wife of the late Jacob Pettit, she was a member of the Belleplain United Methodist Church and Sunday school. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Edna Howell, Millville, and Mrs. Edith McCormick, Belleplain; three sons, Thomas, Nathaniel W., Clinton C., all of Belleplain; a sister Mrs. Amanda Adams, Vineland, 25 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren, and 14 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the Belleplain United Methodist Church by the Rev. Harvey Hall on Thursday at 1 p.m.
Interment will be at the Head of the River Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday evening between 7 and 8:30 at the Robert V. Hoffman Funeral Home in Leesburg.
