He was the son of George Hinds of Texas, and had lived in Arizona for 27 years, was a cattle man, and resided in Tonto Basin. He died at Gila General Hospital after an illness of about a month. He had diabetes. He was survived by his three sons, Leonard of Tonto Basin, Ben Jr. of Riverside, CA, and George of Zenia, CA; three daughters, Mrs. Ora Denton and Mrs. Bessie Williams, both of Globe, and Mrs. Dora Stockman of Waterford, CA; four brothers and four sisters.

Benjamin Monroe Hinds, Sr is the son of William Singleton Hinds and Nancy Ann Gentry nee CAVINESS Hinds.
