Sam A. Ciutter, 87, resident of Bemidji since 1903, died Sunday following an extended illness. His death occurred at Lake Julia Rest Home where he had been receiving care for several months.
He was born in St. Peter, Aug 9, 1870, and came to Bemidji in 1903. Mr. Cutter was a postal employee for 35 years, working for 32 years in the Bemidji post office from which he retired in 1936.
He was a member of the Methodist church for 54 years during which time he and his family were very active. He was also a member of the Odd Fellows and A.O.U.W. lodges.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Harold M. Naylor of Bemidji; two sons, Carter Cutter of Richland Center and Fred of Eugene, Ore.; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. His wife the former Minnie Walker preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held at the First Methodist church. (Bemidji Daily Pioneer, July 15, 1958)
