John Keith "Bud" Norling, age 86 passed away at Sioux Falls, South Dakota on Sunday, May 25, 2014. John was born on Sept. 18, 1927 to Arthur Norling, Sr. and Amy (Berquist) Norling on the family farm at Beresford, South Dakota. John attended Glenwood Rural School. He worked as a farm laborer in the Beresford and Hurley, SD area.
John married in 1951. Four children were born to this union. They lived in Sioux Falls, SD where John drove truck and was a mechanic for Willer's Trucking Company. In 1964 he married Lillian Laughlin. She died in April 1968. John entered Southridge Health Care in March 2000 after suffering a stroke. He enjoyed the friends he made at Southridge Health Care and watching sports on television.
John was preceded in death by his son Raymond Norling; three brothers, Milo Norling, Arthur Norling Jr., and Richard Norling; three sisters Norma Norling, Donna LaFurge and Betty Volden; sister-in-law Rosie Norling; brothers-in-law Leigh LaFurge and William Close, Sr.
He is survived by a son, two daughters, several grandchildren, daughter-in-law, a sister, a brother, two sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside memorial service will be held 2:00PM, Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Brooklyn Cemetery, rural Beresford, South Dakota.
