Fred Callans, 81, died at 5:10 p.m. Friday (Sept. 1, 1995) at St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Mr. Callans was born Feb. 12, 1914, in Bloomington, the son of James and Mary "Mollie" Butler Callans. He married Motie J. Williams Oct. 14, 1938, in St. Louis, Mo.
Mr. Callans owned and operated Callans Sport Shop in Bloomington for many years and later moved the sporting goods store to Normal. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Bloomington-Normal Senior Golf Association.
He graduated from University High School, Normal.
