Frank M Adkins, 82, a retired merchant and former Lincoln County deputy sheriff and assessor, died yesterday morning at his home in Hamlin. A native of Pike County, KY, he was assessor of Lincoln Co. from 1909-13 and deputy sheriff from 1905-09 and from 1928-32. Formerly a timber contractor and operator of a general store near Hamlin, he retired about 15 years ago. Mr. Adkins was a member of Trinity Methodist Church and the 1OOF Lodge, both of Hamlin. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Raymond Ray of Hamlin, Mrs. Roy England of Toronto, Canada, Mrs. Charles Millis of Arlington, Va., and Mrs. Esker Kingery of Chesapeake; four sons, Dewey and Clark W, both of Huntington, Sidney of Diamond and Lon of Hamlin; three brothers, Samuel of Merion, Colo., Isaac of Huntington and Bill of Mud; three sisters, Mrs. Etta Keathley of Pikeville, Ky., Mrs. Laura Mullins of South Charleston and Mrs. Ella Antles of Cameo; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Service will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Trinity Methodist Church at Hamlin. Rev. Ebb Cummings will officiate and burial will be in Lincoln Memorial Park at Hamlin under the direction of Koontz mortuary of Hamlin. The body is at the mortuary and will be taken to the church one hour before service.
