Palatka, Fla. - Daryl D. Wilson, 81, of 4886 409th Ave. N.W., Ogilvie, Minn., passed away at his home in Palatka, Fla., on March 31, 2005. He was born Nov. 27, 1923, to Paul and Lucy (VanAlstine) Wilson. He attended school in Warner, S.D. Daryl was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran, Warner. On June 30, 1943, he married Esther Angerhofer at St. John's Lutheran, Aberdeen rural. This union was blessed with three children. They made their home and farmed near Mansfield. In 1967, they made their home in Aberdeen while enjoying a cabin at Mina Lake. At that time they joined St. Paul's Lutheran in Aberdeen. Mina Lake became their permanent home in 1993. Health problems brought about a move to Minnesota in 2000 to be near their daughter. The especially enjoyed Villa Farms and spending the past winter in Florida where they attended church at St. John Lutheran. For a time, Daryl worked for Krause Construction and then retired from Safeguard Industries after 25 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and bowling. He was a member of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Braham, Minn., and the Machinist's Union. Happy to have shared his life are his wife of 61 years, his son Richard and wife DeRae Wilson of Reno, Nev.; daughters Darlys Pexa and special friend Tom Hill of Laramie, Wyo. and Jodi and her husband Thomas Yotter, Sr. of Ogilvie, Minn.; grandchildren Terri (Jim) Powers and their children Daniel and Elaine of Frederiksburg, Va.; Bradley Wilson of Reno, Nev.; Thomas (Bridget) Yotter, Jr. and their children Jordana and Brooklyn; and Timothy Yotter of Ogilvie, Minn.; sister-in-law Verna (William) Krause of Palatka and their families; brother-in-law Reuben Angerhofer of Mora, Minn., and many friends and relatives. Daryl was preceded in death by his parents and stepparents Rose and George Callum. Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home of Palatka, Fla. is in charge of arrangements.
