Robert E. "Bob" Pearman, age 84, of Maxwell, died May 25, 2014 at Linden Court. He was born on September 10, 1929 in Thomas County, NE to Robert Ernest and Rena G. (Allen) Pearman. Bob grew up on the family ranch and graduated from Seneca High School in 1947 in a class of two people. After graduation, he worked for various ranches in the Sandhills. Bob met a local schoolteacher at Whitman, NE in 1947, Betty Adam. The couple was wed on September 10, 1950 at the Lakeside Methodist Church near Alliance. Bob worked on the Adam family ranch before the couple moved to Maxwell to their family ranch in 1951. They continued to live there for the next 63 years. Bob and Betty owned and operated the Flock Inn in Maxwell for many years. He also sold fertilizer and seed corn. Bob was a longtime member of the Maxwell School Board, and he and Betty drove the activity bus for the school for many years. Bob was involved in many youth activities in Maxwell and the 4-H Club. He loved children and loved teasing them. He enjoyed dancing, watching race cars, and raising and working his horses, cattle, and dogs. Bob will be remembered for loaning out his roping horses to several young people to help them in their rodeo careers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Norman Neisius; a daughter, Barbara in 1983; and a brother, Norman Pearman.
