Thelma Dunkle Rupe, 92, of Barboursville, WV, formerly of Huntington, WV, widow of Glen Rupe, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, in Chateau Grove Assisted Living. She was born May 14, 1922 in Huntington a daughter of the late Teddy E. and Mary Elizabeth Barbour Dunkle. Her husband, Glen Rupe; her stepdaughter, Donna R. Reynolds-Kent; two sisters, Maxine Booth and Audrey Clark; a brother, Verlin E. Dunkle; and a nephew, Ted Booth, also preceded her in death.

She was a retired Beverly Hills Junior High School teacher and was a member of the Highlawn Baptist Church. She received her Bachelor's of Arts Degree on August 8, 1946 from Marshall College of Teaching and later, she received her Master's of Arts Degree on May 26, 1952 also from Marshall College.

Survivors include: her grandchildren, Kimberly A. Holmes (Tim), of Wichita Falls, TX; Karen S. Edgar, Bidwell, OH; and William (Buck) Reynolds, Bidwell, OH; great grandchildren, Madison and Mitchell Holmes, Wichita Falls, TX; Monica and Josh Helms and Will Edgar, Bidwell, OH; and Isaiah and Gracelyn Reynolds, Bidwell OH; great-great granddaughter; Baylee Helms, Bidwell, OH; a niece, Betsy Booth Weiler (John) and nephews, Larry Robert Kendall (Josephine Grove Kendall), Tim Dunkle, and Tom Dunkle (Betty), all of Huntington; great nephews, Eric A. Weiler and his girlfriend, Deana Holsclaw of Greenville, NC and Todd Dunkle; great nieces, Meredith Elayne Kendall Allen and her husband, Jason Allen of Illinois, Jennifer Sarah Dunkle of New Jersey.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Chapman's Mortuary. The family would like to thank Chateau Grove Assisted Living and staff for their loving care.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Thursday, May 29, 2014, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington. Burial will be in Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Chapman's Mortuary. www.chapmans-mortuary.com
