MONTICELLO....Funeral services for John Dietrich (Dick) Bohlken, 83, were held Wednesday afternoon Oct. 18,at St. John's Lutheran church, rural Monticello. The Rev. C. C. Gutekunst officiated. Burial was in St. John's cemetery.
Mr. Bohlken died Monday morning, Oct. 16, at John McDonald hospital, where he had been a patient five days. He was born May 28, 1884 near Monticello, the son of John and Anna Koemmerman Bohlken.
He received his education in the Jones county schools. He was married to Anna Collmann Feb. 14, 1909. The couple farmed in the Monticello community with the exception of 11 years spent in Minnesota and Wisconsin. They retired from farm life and moved to Monticello in 1964.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Leo, Monticello; three daughters, Mrs.
Clarence (Helen) Seifert of White Bear Lake, Minn., Mrs. John H. (Henrietta) Eden of Monticello and Mrs. Fred (Lucille)
Schumann of Lafayette, Ind.
Also surviving are 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Adolph Hanken of Prescott, Wis. and Mrs. John Batchelder of Sand Springs.
A son Louis, two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Pallbearers were William Bohlken, David Bohlken, Richard Seifert, Paul Schumann, John Schumann and Ernest Wojahn.
