Emma E. Featherman, 92, of Berwick passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Nescopeck on July 1, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Elizabeth Davis Shultz, and was a graduate of Nescopeck High School. Emma was employed at Luzerne Outerwear and the Cigar Factory in Berwick and prior to retiring, she worked at Northwest Area School District for many years. She enjoyed reading, puzzle book, Sudoku and playing cards.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Featherman, in 1992; son-in-law, Alfred Gizenski Sr.; sisters: Phyllis Harner and Elva Malencore; brothers: Ellsworth Shultz and Emlyn Shultz.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters: Judith Gizenski, Orangeville; Donna Meyers and her husband, Duane, Hunlock Creek; grandchildren: Denise Rhodes and husband, Eric; Alfred Gizenski Jr. and wife, Paula; David Gizenski; Lisa Killian and husband, Jim; Doug Meyers; Greg Meyers and wife, Megan; great-grandchildren: Nathan, Nicholas, Hannah, Benjamin, Shannon, Kayla, Rafferty, Janelle, Faith, Ryan and Chase; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at the Heller Funeral Home, 633 E. Third St., Nescopeck, with the Rev. David Jones officiating. Viewing will be prior to the service from 9-11 a.m. Interment will be in the Sorber Cemetery, Reyburn.
