He was the son of Charles S Allmon/Allman and Cora Estelle Ross of Concord, North Carolina. He was one of many children. His siblings were Howard Lee, Fred Monroe, John Matthew, Luther Thomas, Carrie Bell, Frank Jackson, Mable Jane, and an infant child who was lost.
He enlisted in the Army 7 January 1943. He served for three months in combat and died on 22 July 1944 in France.
He was awarded the EAMET Medal and the Purple Heart.
