WILLIAM ARTHUR BARBER died at his home, 870 Frederick Street on Tuesday after an illness of four weeks, aged 72. Born and reared in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Chief of Police Thomas H. Barber and Florentine (Arthur) Barber.

He was a member of the First Christian Church and of the Men's Bible Class.

Surviving are two brothers, Scott A. Barber, Hagerstown, and Charles T. Barber; mother, Mrs. Florentine Barber; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at the A.K. Coffman Funeral Home' interment was made in Rose Hill Cemetery.
