Leland Green, the seven-year-old child of Mr. and Mrs. Green, of Honcut, died yesterday from carbolic acid poisoning. The little boy had been ill for some time, and his mother had been nursing him almost day and night. Carbolic acid had been used as a disinfectant, and in some way the bottle of medicine and the bottle of carbolic acid were intermixed, the carbolic acid being given the place usually accorded to the medicine.
During the night the boy had become restless, and in the dim light the change of the bottles passed unnoticed. Medicine was poured from the carbolic acid bottle and given him. Death followed almost instantly.
The mother is completed prostrated over the death of her child.
