Born and raised in Baltimore, Mrs. Wheeler attended Baltimore City public schools. She resided in Arnold before moving to Severna Park 20 years ago. For several years, she worked as a clerk for both the May Co. and Montgomery Ward in Baltimore. For most of her life, she was a homemaker.
She was a member of Jenkins Memorial Church in Pasadena. Her interests included crafts, cooking, sewing, reading and bowling.
Surviving are her husband of 42 years, Clinton F. Wheeler; one daughter, Linda Sparks of Severna Park; three sons, Clinton Wheeler Jr. and David Wheeler of Baltimore and Steven Wheeler of Severna Park; four brothers, Charles and Melvin Smith and Irving Booth of Baltimore, and Leonard Booth of Severna Park; two sisters, Dorothy Wheelton of Arnold and Delores Thomas of Barbersville, Va.; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Jenkins Memorial Church with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Baltimore. Arrangements are by Barranco and Sons Severna Park Funeral Home.
