"Sallie" Best Spradlin on 04 Aug 1902 in Blount County, Tennessee. Sallie had 3 children by her first marriage, to Leonidas David Spradlin who died a mysterious death. John F. Ridge and Sallie had 2 sons; Theodore Roosevelt Ridge, called "Rose" on 21 Nov 1903 and George Washington Ridge (also known as George Ross Ridge, Sr.) born in November, 1905. Rose was mistakenly listed as a female in the 1910 census for Sweetwater, TN and the whole family were mistakenly listed as Black.......they lived in a mixed-race neighborhood. "Rose" Ridge married Amanda Grimes and they had 16 children. George Washington Ridge (aka George Ross Ridge) married Minnie Lee McDowell on 24 Dec 1930 in Bradley Co, TN and they had one son, George Ross Ridge, Jr.
