Born May 29, 1923, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late John and Stella Majewska Sczeszek. She was the wife of Wilbur Dorsey Brooks, who died in 2010.
She had worked as an inspector for Maryland Cup for more than 25 years. She enjoyed playing bingo at the Boring fire house.
Surviving are children Joan M. Chester Reese and husband Jerry, of Hampstead, and John H. Shipley and wife Linda Majek, of Baltimore; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by sons Robert and Lawrence Chester; and six siblings.
Interment will be in Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens in Timonium.
