Brant Area Resident 60 Years Succumbs

A Chesaning and Brant resident for about 60 years, James Aylward, 83, died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home at 714 South Front, Chesaning, after two weeks illness. Born Dec. 16, 1863 in New York State, Aylward married Cora Colwin [sic, Colvin] in 1886 in Brant. He retired from farming in the Brant area about 15 years ago and moved to Chesaning. He leaves his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Edward Miller of St. Charles and Mrs. Elgin Whaley of Chesaning, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Walker Funeral Home in Chesaning with Rev. H. C. Elford officiating and burial in Brant.
