Abraham Hallman Jones was born June 15, 1857 in Upper Providence Township (near Arcola) Yerkes, PA.

He was the son of George Jones and Susanna Hallman Jones.

He had a brother and one sister: namely David H. who married Sallie Latshaw and Emma H. who married Jacob Martin Hunsberger, who later was ordained deacon of the Providence Mennonite Church.

Abraham Hallman Jones was married on Dec 23, 1882 to Mary Ann Cox, the daughter of Job and Margaret Rosenberger Cox, who was born Jan 6, 1863 to this union six children were born: Susan C., Charles C., Kathryn C., David C., Abraham C., and Mary C.

He bought a farm near Zieglerville, Montgomery County, PA in 1882. He lived there for 12 years. He then bought the farm next to where he was born at Yerkes, PA. This farm consisted of 80 acres and cost $2,246.00.

In 1912, he bought two more properties; one was a farm of 86.75 acres for $4,000.00 This was located on Black Rock Road; Phoenixville, PA. He oived on this property for a few years and then moved back to his property at Yerkes.

The second property cost $855.00 and was 21 acres. It was located on the Collegeville-Phoenixville Road; Collegeville, PA. In 1926 he built a new house on this property, where they lived until their deaths.

He spent his life farming; he was also sexton of Providence Mennonite Church and caretaker of Providence Mennonite Cemetery as long as he was able.
