Mildred Marie Miller Goodwin McPike, age 86, of St. Vincent's Home, formerly of 2923 Spring, died Sunday (Oct. 3, 2004) at 2:25 am in Blessing Hospital.
She was born August 2, 1918 in Paloma, Illinois, the daughter of John Thomas Miller and Martha Ann Gooding Miller. She married Robert Harry ‘Fred' Goodwin who preceded her in death April 11, 1972. On January 4, 1973, she married Paul B. McPike in Quincy. He preceded her in death on August 25, 1981.
Mrs. McPike worked for J. H. Miller Statuary Products for many years and then worked for over 20 years as a waitress for Louis Pappas at New Way Lunch.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Marion Shepherd and her husband Charles, Quincy and Patricia A. Rowsey and her husband Jay T. Rowsey, Jr., Quincy and a son, Robert H. Goodwin, Quincy, 11 grandchildren Sherri L. Mayfield and her husband David, Quincy, Bobbi J. Sparrow and her husband Ronald, Quincy, Robert Kevin Goodwin, Loraine, Kathy L. Inman and her husband Sam, Quincy, Darla J. Ohnemus and her husband Sarge, Fowler, Ginger M. Ewing and her husband Steve, Hannibal, Kristy J. Schultze and her husband Shawn, Cottage Hills, IL; Kyle Bryant and his wife Valerie, Quincy, Jonathan Bigley, Quincy, Tonja Lang and her husband Johnnie, Quincy and Charles Eric Goodwin Selsor, 24 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. a sister Charlotte Bemis, Payson and numerous nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, sisters Mabel Goodwin, Marjorie Adcox, Iva Manlove, and 2 sisters in infancy and 3 grandchildren in infancy.
Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 1 PM in the Hansen-Spear Funeral Home with the Rev. Bob Cook officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 11 AM to 1 PM. Burial in Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois. Memorials may be given to Adams County Homemakers (Adult Day Care Service).
