Excerpt--The Rev. S. M. Shaffer, 82, retired Methodist Protestand minister of Preston and Taylor counties, died Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dale Zinn, Grafton, after a three year illness. Nine children by his first marriage survive. They are as follows: Mrs. P. W. Knotts, Mrs. W. B. Woodyard, Mrs. Zinn and Chester Shaffer, all of Grafton; Mrs. Benjamin Ward, of Washington state; J. H. Shaffer, of Pittsburg, Pa.; J. M. Shaffer, of Washington, D.C., and Rufus Shaffer, of Kingwood. Burial was in the Bethlehem Cemetery near Reedsville.
