Born to Josephine and Richard Acosta in Los Angeles on June 27, 1941, Rich passed away from complications of Dementia. He is survived by his wife BJ; sisters Margie (Charlie), Adele, Delores (Angel); brothers Robert (Valerie) and Ron and families; numerous nieces and nephews. Rich graduated from El Rancho High School in Pico Rivera, and served in the Navy on the USS Bennington from 1961-1964 during Vietnam. He attended Rio Hondo Jr. College and worked for the FAA as a Air Traffic Controller/radar at various California airports. He served at the FAA Headquarters in Washington DC for 12 years, retired in 2002 and returned to Ca. He continued working at the Nor- Cal Tracon at Mather AFB for 5 years. Rich enjoyed touring the east coast, exploring the history of the Civil War and WWII. Rich & BJ moved to Sun City Lincoln Hills, becoming active in the RV group traveling throughout the the western states and Canada. He enjoyed music, playing the trumpet & guitar. He was a coin collector, enjoyed bird watching, metal detecting, photography, genealogy, family and friends. At Rich's request there will be no service. Interment will be at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, Ca.
