By 1880 Melton was living in Klickitat County, Washington, were he and Henrietta Jory were married in 1885. Henrietta had previously been married to George Keck Sanders in 1881, and she and George had two children, Edgar and Georgia. George passed away in 1884. Melton and Henrietta had at least 8 children. Melton and Henrietta came to Alberta with their family circa 1906, and homesteaded the SE12-37-15W4.
