Brown was born in Oklahoma Territory on April 26, 1911 and passed away in a Bakersfield hospital Sunday night. She moved to Kern County in 1952. She was preceded in death by her husband Alva William Brown in February of 1971. Survivors include her children. J. W. Brown; Thelma Hale, Charles Brown, and Mary Elkins; a sister Josie Lowery; a brother Rosco Lemons; 12 grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
