Johnsie Lee Robinson Hackler, 98, of Kingsport, TN, was ushered into the presence of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on March 25, 2015 a Preston Place II where she was given loving care by Earthly Angels.

She was born October 21, 1916 in Madison County, NC. During World War II, Johnsie worked at Ford Motor Company’s Willow Run Assembly plant as a riveter on B-29 aircraft (Rosie the Riveter). After the war she moved to Kingsport with her new husband, George M. Hackler. In Kingsport, she became a homemaker and worked as a seamstress in her home well into her eighties. As a child in the western North Carolina mountains, it is told she could get up, make a dress and wear it to school that day.

She was an early and lifelong member of the Litz Manor Baptist Church, Eastern Star and Social Beauchant.

Johnsie was preceded in death by her husband, George M. Hackler.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances Ferguson Gillenwater of Scott Depot, WV; son, George R. Hackler of Canton, GA; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

For those wishing to attend, a graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at East Lawn Memorial Park with Rev. Chris Alford officiating.
