Wilson served in the Confederate Army, Co. D, 3rd Ga Regiment, entering the service as a Private on 24 April 1861. He was discharged with a medical disability on 13 February 1862. He lived for a short time in Dougherty and moved to Sanford, Seminole County, Florida where he lived near his brother Albert. He was a deputy sheriff there in Sanford.
