Mrs. Freese was born April 23, 1922, at Covington, Ky., a daughter of Philip L. and Besse B. Minch Bolinger. She married John A. "Jack" Freese on Aug. 4, 1945, at Bloomington. He died July 27, 1988.
Surviving are her children, John P. (Marilyn) Freese and Daniel J. (Gwen) Freese, both of Normal; Michele (Steve) Bell, Hudson; and Mindy (Dan) McCall, Danvers; nine grandchildren, Andrew (Mia) Freese, Suzanne (Antonio) Montoya, Emily (Abye) Derege, Jessica R. (David) Oehmen, Jack Freese, Jakob B. Freese, Matt (Tara) Bell, Megan (Eric) Nichols and Mark (Jennifer) McCall; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Her parents and two brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Freese was a 60-year member of First United Methodist Church, Normal.
She had worked with her husband at Kazar & Freese Insurance Agency in Normal for many years prior to retirement.
Betty was admired and loved by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for her positive outlook on life and her acceptance of the inevitability of change. She was a very special, loving person who had a great influence on all members of her family and her friends.
