Jane Gertrude Spade

Jane Gertrude Spade, 77 of 1326 Summers St. Hinton died at 2:00 a.m. Friday May 16, 2014 at Beckley A.R.H. Hospital following a short illness.

Born April 7, 1937 in Hinton, she was the daughter of the late James and Bertha Mae Bowden Adkins.

Ms. Spade was a former employee of the Hinton Hospital and owned and operated Janes Laundromat and Jane's Tavern, both in Hinton. She was of the Baptist faith and had lived all of her life in Hinton.

She was preceded in death by a two sons, Gary McBride and Jimmy Farley, one daughter, Carolyn Farley, one granddaughter, Brandi Plumley, three brothers, Carl, Virgil and Harold Adkins, and two sisters, Ruby Adkins and Margaret Bennett.

Survivors include a son, Larry Dale McBride of Pipestem, four daughters, Donna Jane Plumley of Hinton, Leslie Cynthia Clough of Worton, MD, Deneen Christina Dolan of Kennedyville, MD and Kandy Michelle Spade of Hinton. Twenty-four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday May 18, 2014 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with Pastor Jeff Canterbury officiating. Burial will follow in Hilltop Cemetery near Hinton. Friends may call from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Family members will serve as pallbearers.
