Genevieve Louise Langley died Sunday, May 25, 2003 in Bellingham. Mrs. Langley lived in Whatcom County for seventy years. She was born in Seattle on January 9, 1909 to Frank and Grace (Triplett) Bridge, educated in the Everett schools, and married to James Weston Langley on June 25, 1932. They lived briefly in Seattle and in Blaine during his employment with the State Banking Department. They lived over twenty-six years in Sumas and in Bellingham since 1959.
Mrs. Langley was an active member of the First Baptist Church, and the Bellingham Golf and Country Club, where she had served in earlier years as an officer. She was a long time member of the Dr. Cilley Sword Chapter of the American Cancer Society. The Children's Medical Center, the Lighthouse Mission, Salvation Army, and other local charities were of concern to her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, and her three brothers. Mrs. Langley is survived by her sons and their families, David and Joyce Langley of Bellingham, Neal and Mary Langley of Midland, Michigan, Bruce and Lynn Langley of Birch Bay Village 12 grandchildren 23 great-grandchildren three nieces and many dear friends.
We have shared her love and grace, and her confident faith in the promises of our Lord Jesus Christ. A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Bellingham at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 29, with private inurnment at Greenacres|Moles Cemetery. Remembrances may be given to a favorite charity.
